Whether you're a keen bush walker or just wanting to go for a leisurely stroll, Aireys Inlet has great walking tracks for you to try. One of the best would have to be the cliff top walk which stretches for the full length of the town connecting all the beaches.
From the Inlet you can walk your way up to the Lighthouse and learn about maritime history on the way. From the Lighthouse you can walk along another 200m to the picturesque Steppy beach, where at low tide you can access the sub tidal rock platform of the Eagle Rock Marine Santuary. This is a no take zone and is protected from fishing. Walk another kilometre to the popular and beautiful Gully beach. Along the way take time to stop at the look-outs to take in the beautiful surrounds. Capture the moment with your camera so it truly is unforgettable. Follow the track through native bush approximately another kilometre to find the fantastic Sunnymead beach a favourite surf spot amongst the locals. Keep your eyes peeled for the native animals and birds that make home to the cliff top track. |
